12c Database installation is quite simple. There are several pre-requisites which should be taken care before starting the installation. Once the pre-requisite have been satisfied you can proceed with below steps.
Step 1 : Untick the check box and click on “Next”
Step 2: Choose “Install database software only” and click on “Next”
Step 3: Choose “Single instance database installation” and click on “Next”
Step 4: Selete language “English” and click on “Next”
Step 5: Choose “Enterprise Edition (6.4 GB)” and click on “Next”
Step 6: Provide Oracle base and Software location and click on “Next”.
Step 7: Provide Inventory Directory , orainventory Group Name as oinstall. Click on “Next”
Step 8: Provide groups accordingly and click “Next”.
Step 9: You can ignore the error if it is ignorable and click “Next”.
Note: Here, this is the test environment for learning purpose only so I have ignored the SWAP related error. Please follow the oracle documentation for the pre-requisites before installation.
Step 10: Save the response file for your reference.
Step 11: Run the root scripts and click on “Ok”.
Step 12: Click on “Close”.
Step 1: Run DBCA as a “oracle” use and below screen will appear. Select “Create Database” option and click next.
Step 2: Choose “Advanced Mode” and click next.
Step 3: Choose “General purpose or transaction processing” and click next.
Step 4: Provide global database and pdb name and click next
Step 5: Tick on the checkbox to configure enterprise manager and click next.
Step 6: Choose either option to set the passwords for SYS, SYSTEM and PDBADMIN users and click next.
Step 7: Tick on “Create a New Listener” and provide appropriate inputs and click next.
Step 8: Choose “Use Common location for all database files” and click next.
Step 9: Click next.
Under Memory tab – Choose “Typical Settings” and provide the appropriate size in MB
Under Sizing tab – set the processes parameter as per your need.
Under Character sets – Choose “Use Unicode ”
Under Connect Mode tab – Choose “Dedicated Server Mode”
and click next.
Step 11: Choose “Create Database” and click next.
Step 12: Click next
Step 13: Click Finish.
Step 14: Observe the progress of database installation.
Step 15: Click close.
